Lahser Road Mikvah

Our Community.
Our Future.
Our Mikvah.

ABOUT US

Lahser Road Mikvah is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose aim is to provide a boutique Mikvah to the broader metro Detroit community, centrally located in Southfield, Michigan.

We offer a spa-like experience by creating an environment that is both spiritually and physically rejuvenating for women in the southeast Michigan Jewish Community. The Mikvah requires unique building specifications in order for it to be of proper religious use.

With the support of generous local Jewish families we have over $1,000,000 in pledges. Some of these pledges span over 5 years which will help us get through the construction phase of our project.

To make this historic journey a success, we will need everyone in our metro Detroit  community to participate. We  purchased our property located on the corner of Bell and 11 Mile Road  in late 2019 for cash . The original structure was demolished in June 2021.  The property is now shovel ready for construction. Ground breaking is scheduled for August 2023!

While we are closing in on that goal, your donation today will directly impact our ability to build and initially maintain the property where we will  build our Mikvah.

THE PROPERTY

The property is located on the corner of Bell Road and 11 Mile Road at 22960 West Eleven Mile Road in Southfield. We have had our zoning and plans approved by the City of Southfield, and have obtained property tax-exempt status for the site.

Our construction documents are complete. They are beautiful. The aesthetic is mid-century modern with an organic leaning.   We received rave review  from our builder, Trademark Construction Company, who will partner with our Rabbinical authority to build our Mikvah.

Construction is scheduled to begin August 2023!

We appreciate the growing support for this important investment in our community’s future!

IMPORTANCE OF OUR MISSION

Watch Our Video Here
In recent years the Southfield community has seen a tremendous influx of young families,
but without a Mikvah this growth is not sustainable.

If a Southfield woman’s Mikvah night is on Friday night or Yom Tov, she will need to walk close to 6 miles to Oak Park and back, stay in Oak Park for Shabbos and spend Mikvah night in someone’s guest bedroom, or push off her Mikvah night.
These are not acceptable options.
What we are building is a pillar for our community.
This Mikvah will ensure stability and continuity of our community, and of the Jewish people!
